Happy New Year guys! Its a little late, I know, but this break has been so busy. Tommorow I am going back to school, and at the end of the week I have midterms! Gah...I know, so I will probably be back on Friday. This year I am planning on blogging more, with better posts and more how-to's. So expect that in the future! I also may be taking a photography class, which is super exciting for two reasons. One, I get to take better, more interesting photos, and Two, it is located in the city!

What are your resolutions? I want to hear, so I can possibly make some better ones!

I purchased some brand new fringed boots from DSW after Christmas. They were half off, and I had a $20 off coupon, so the grand total was $9.97! I had wanted these for Christmas, but I did not recieve them as my size was out, so I was obviously overjoyed to find them!

Hahaa...I got some awesome stuff. Plaid tops, blazers, cardigans, and ipod speakers. xDD Today I am shopping with my friends, so I will probably post some photos. We are having a "teen angst day at the mall," just because we are that cool. I am going to look for a faux leather bomber like Hannah Cheeto's and some cheap basics at Rave because the one at our mall is going out of bussiness.

Today was a bit er, morbid. The sky was grey, the ground was damp, and everything around me had taken on the colors of a Grimm fairytale. So I did the logical thing. No, not duck inside and curl up on the couch drinking hot cocoa. I took photos!

Yeah...so much for posting daily. Sadly, I found myself suddenly swamped with homework, and I could not return to blogging until today. On the flip side, though, I have some very cute outfits to be shown!

The first I wore on Wednesday.

I also recieved my elf.com order on Wednesday. I had recieved a free $5 giftcard for commenting on their blogs (once you enter the site, click "Beauty Blogs." You must be one of the first 100 to comment!). I decided to order the Waterproof Eyeliner in Plum and Ash (I adore the plum, I haven't tried the ash yet!), the cream eyeshadow in Midnight (I think! It is the black and gray one!) and the eyeliner brush together, and they work well to create a smokey eye. I was really pleased with the stuff, and I plan on ordering more from the site.

On Thursday, I was going for a more Americana feel with my outfit. Blue top: Old Navy. Cardigan: Target. Skirt: Forever 21. Tights: hand me down. Boots: Report.

So, I am glad to be back, and I promise to post some soccer banquet photos tommorow!

A Super Fly DIY!

Instead of wasting away in front of the telly today (like I have been all weekend!), I decided to get something done. I worked on playlists for my Christmas gifts, which happen to be CD's, but I then found myself gravitating towards the television. After all, there was a Super Sweet Sixteen marathon on MTV (what a trash tv loving suburbanite I am). So when I finally got up off of the couch, I decided to reinvent a pair of jeans I hardly ever wear.

I began by making this lovely drawing:

I ended up just changing the pockets, because the embroidery was too hard.

Here is how they turned out. I really do enjoy them! They remind me of the ripped jeans all the way up the leg, but because of stupid school LAWS, I am not allowed to have anything ripped above the knee *sniffle*.

I woke up at 5 a.m. today to participate in a hugely commercial event that was filled with extremely preppy girls. And it felt good! No, of course I am not talking about the new opening of Hollercrombie or whatever, but I am talking about The mall. At six a.m. On black Friday. Yes, it was a bit ridiculous, but I adored about every second of it. Anddddd I got some extremely good deals. YUM!
First, I went to Forever 21, which is one of my many favorite stores. The scene was the usual sale absurdity, including cardboard boxes overflowing with clothes. All clearence was buy one get one, so it was totally worth it. I got this top, which I bought with my cousin's items (she had an odd number!), and I ended up spending $2.50.

It actually reminds me of sherbert, but I have no clue what to wear it with to make it wintry. I guess a cardigan, but who knows what else.

Then we went to Delia*s (yay!) and I got some cuuuute stuff!

I adore the Smiths, Morrisey makes me want to swoooooon! This top was $5.74.

I have been awaiting this bag's sale for ages. It paid off, as it was only $3.99!

The last stop we made was at Charlotte Russe, where I bought a Luellaesk skirt for $2.50!! Everything was 25% off, and this was already on sale (to the extreme!).

Now I must go to the gym to work off all of my Thanksgiving flab so I can fit into these clothes!!

We are playing badmiton in gym class...I feel like I am in one of those ads that are filled with people jumping! My partner and I suck at it though, but it is fun because we basically stand there and swat at the birdie. Today I had the easiest hit, but I missed the birdie completely. So if you had the choice between a turtle and me to be your partner...CHOOSE THE TURTLE! haa...so anyway, it is time for a chilly winter around here....GOOD LAYERING, BUT BAAAD SCHOOL TIME BECAUSE THE HEATER IS NOT REALLY ON....

Ugh....I have been sick for the past few days, which sucks. Thankfully I had time to blog for once though. I think that I might be able to go back to daily posts VERRRY soon, which makes me happy.

Anyway, I put together a list of crap that I have been wanting, obsessing over, or dancing to these past weeks.

1. Boots:

I have been obsessively looking up pairs of boots that are either suede or have fringe.

2. New hairstyles

This is Jenny Lewis. And this is how I want my hair to be. Currently my hair is shoulder length and rather curly, and I wear it side-parted. Tonight at my haircut, though, and I am getting bangs like this and just a trim otherwise so I can let my hair grow out. I am SOOO excited!

I haven't been able to blog, at all. Why?? Well...
1. School 7:30-2:30 daily
2. Soccer 3:00-5:30 daily UNLESS there is a game (then it is like 5:00-9:00 daily)
3. Homework 6:00-8:00 daily (all honors = no time!)
4. Sleep 9:00-6:30 daily
Then it begins again. So heres the deal:
I will start blogging again when soccer ends, but I will probably keep commenting on other blogs. (If there is time)
I wanna blog soooooooooooo much, but life sucks (so does soccer: all we do is run. the other day we did 3 laps (like track laps) around the field in 3 minutes and 53 seconds. That was horrible.)

I shop too much! I went to Forever 21, Old Navy, Delia*s and Barnes and Noble today, and bought some more new things! XDD Fun, but money snatching. Here's what I bought:

Top: Forever 21 $11.99. I saw this amazing Eurpean lady there that was wearing all black (jeans, long-sleeved top, scarf!) in 80 degree weather. I wish I took the camera there...ah well.

Product Review: Tresemme Flawless Curls

Ok...so I was skeptical when I saw the commercial about Tresemme Flawless Curls hair products. Extreeeemely skeptical. How could that woman's hair look so...amazing?! But in huge spout of consumerism, I decided to try one of their products: Curl Defenition Jelly. It claims to define curls and to make hair shinier and softer. Surprisingly, it works. I noticed after the first time that I used that my hair was not as dull as it usually was, and my curls were a bit bouncier. But there was still a problem with frizz! So in another spout of consumerism, I bought the No Frizz Shine Spray.

Though the product was not made for curly hair (I did not realize it at the time!! duh moment for me!) it still works well. I noticed that I did not have all the fuzz that I normally get, and my hair looked good for once.

Here is how to use the products:

1. Start out with damp hair.

2. Rub the Curl Definition Jelly into the hair like mousse.

3. Dry hair, while scrunching.

4. Once the hair is dry, spray hair with the No Frizz Spray.

5. If necessary, respray throughout the day!

No....it is worse...I am back to school. Ok, ok, school shopping can be fun. (ok, like ah-mazing), but really, all this homework is killing the blog. And my outfits. Sadly, because of soccer, I think that I will only be able to do weekend posts, or something like it. GASP!! Erm...long time no post?? Yes, as you can see, soccer has taken over my life. How much you ask? Well let just say 3-8 daily, plus fund-raising at a theme park from 12-8. That was torture. And this week we have team "social events" Oh joy. Hopefully I will have time to shop for a first day of school outfit!!

Thankfully, I had a little leasure time this weekend!

I went thrifting the other day, and sadly, I only found one dress. This really shows how lacking the thrift stores around here are, because I went to five of them. I know....depressing. But on the bright side, the dress is splendiforous!

It was $7.50, and the only problem is that the straps are a bit long. Thankfully I have wonderful sewing skills...not!

Then, yesterday I went to the mall, and although the thrift stores around here suck, the mall is ok. Though I would like an H&M...

I got these high waisted pants at Forever 21 on sale for $7.99. All I need now is my wonderful Grandma to help hem them!

I also got these socks there for $1.99!

Then, I went to Rave and bought this vest. XD

Finally, last but not least are the textured tights I got at the Gap for 97 cents. Smiles for sales!

Today was er....usual. I dropped my sister off at camp (well me and my mom did) and then we went out to eat. There I had creme brulee for the first time. YUM! This week we are planning on thrifting a lot, so expect some larger posts.

Today was rather boring (again :0) but I did end up going to a discount store that sells factory cast-offs. I sadly did not find anything, and I did not have my camera with me to take photo of these wonderful patterened leggings that were sadly were too large. Ah well...

Hey Hey Hey! My camera is currently broken (gasp!) so I haven't been able to post in the past few days. Sadly, it is still broken, but I decided to do a post on the often neglacted fashion accessory...the scarf. Delia*s is giving out $10 coupons just if you go in and try on a pair of jeans. Although the store has become annoyingly popular, I like their jeans because the petite ones are actually short enough for me. Oh...and I nearly bought a shirt with John Lennon on it. Yeah...so I am back from journalism camp. I had LOADS of fun ( i went with my cousin!) and learned a lot of somewhat useful stuff. I promiiiiiiiiise that I will post outfit pics this week (maybe a photoshoot of me and the cousin...idk). Plus pics of what I got for my birthday (YAY JULY 3!!!) So now I have no excuse not to comment. XD

1. Converses are AMAZING!!! Comfy, cute, and different, Converses+Me=LOVE!!!
2. Wedges are like the only heel I can wear. That is sad, I know, but with a tendency to be short and to fall over a lot, wedges save my life!
3. Gladiators are sooo cute. And they won't make you fall over!
4. Flats, especially these can be so very demure, and wonderful. :)

Today I went shopping with my mom. I got some new shoes, and 2 t-shirts. It is sooo hot here, so expect me to wear more shorts and tanks than anything else. Today it got up to 92 degrees, and my sister had a soccer game!!!! I sat in the sun and nearly melted, and I cringe to think about how it was to play the game.

Today I am planning on shopping for a new sewing pattern from JoAnne Fabrics. I am thinking maybe a skirt or a dress. Hmmmmmmm. I am an ok sewer, although I am sure my Home Ec (sorry FCS) teacher would beg to differ. I managed to rip a hole in the pillow I made last year, and this year, although the pajama shorts came out alright, I broke a sewing needle, and it was the END OF THE WORLD!!! I also managed to cause a pot full of noodles to boil over. My home ec career was probably over before it started.

Syesha Mercado- Mediocre...I don't really like her, because she is forgettable. All my buddies feel the same!
David Archeluta-I watched him on star search....I was about 10 then, so I can't really remember, but oh well. He has a huge posse of teenage girls watching him and loving him-BUT I HATE HIM!!!
David Cook-Had poserish hair, and is too much like Chris Daughtry
Jason Castro-He is quirky, and pretty good at singing-I like him
Brooke White-I saved the best for last-She has cute clothes, is very sunny, and can really sing!!!

Grrrrr and WELCOME TO THE 60s!

AH!! I have been away and have had like no time to blog. :(

Anyway, I decided to do my 1960s fashion dressing now!

So lets start!

-The 60s were and era of change. Women made fashion history by beginning the trend of wearing pants. Jeans were in, and most skirts were OUT.

-Skirts were SUPER short (aka micro mini).

-Think geometric for hairstyles, as well as the beehive, and plenty of straightening.

-Bell bottoms were a trademark of the 60s.

-Wear peace necklaces, boho skirts, and lots of scarves for a hippie inspired look.

-Throw on some kitten heels and begin to feel oh so very 60s!

-There were also a lot of tank turtlenecks, although unless they are the real deal, these have a lot of potential to look TACKY!

-Think of Jackie Kennedy and Mary Quant for inspiration.

-Pillbox hats and big sunglasses were huge in the 60s

Oh, and the Beatles formed in 1964. Man do I wish I lived then. I could have had an authentic Beatles shirt, and seen them in concert...sigh!

So go now...and DRESS UP!!!!

This weekend the fam and I went the hs production of Anything Goes. The outfits reminded me that I MUST MUST MUST begin my decade dress posting. Thats right....from the 50s to the 80s I will search the internet for clothes, style, and most importantly, fashion!

First things first...50s!

-Think dresses, high waisted skirts, polka dots, and curly hair

-Look at the lady in the picture!!!! She has splendiforous gloves that I wish I had!!!

-Wear some white tights just like Alice in Wonderland!

-Saddle shoes were big in the 50s...try some on and skip down the street.

-If you need to carry some books, why not use a satchel?

-As for make-up, thick liquid eyeliner, red lipstick, and false eyelashes will do!

-Channel Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and Audrey Hepburn for a fifties look!

-Wear cardigans with full skirts.

-Brooches, costume beads, and corsages complete the 50s look!

NOW GO...search through your closets for the perfect 50s outfit!!

This weekend I went thrifting for the first time in a while, and picked up two great items. The first was a wonderful Delia*s skirt for only $5. The second.....DRUMROLL PLEASE.....was a pair of rubber ESPRIT (!!!!!) shoes. Ok, rubber sounds kinda bad, but they are EXTREMELY AMAZING!!! And Esprit....who knew one could find a pair thrifting here, where Abercrombie is the choice among most. (GAG ME!)

-Went to H&M and bought 2 blousy shirts. I like never go there....it is horrible because the closest one is 45 minutes away!
-Went through clothes in my grandparent's attic, and found SOOOOO many cute vintage skirts and blouses, BUT after washing, they still smell a little musty...any tips?
-Got $40 for babysitting (spending money!)

A Confused Suburbia...

I think that suburbia is confused by what exactly fashion is. For example, I wore a pair of tights, black checkered bermudas, and a chunky sweater, and I was considered 'dressed up'. Not only that, but my peers seem to think that it is great whenever everyone has the same outfit on. Then again, they believe that Hollister and Abercrombie are heaven. Whatever is going on in their robot minds, I know not, but at least I can dress without being imitated.

1. Sneakers and dresses, although it is sort of a don't in the fashion world, suits Lily Allen very well. I would reccomend wearing converses with a dress.
2. Lily Allen usually wears bright colors, so think NEON!!!!!!!!

Sadly it is Sunday night, and that means that tomorrow is Monday. :( BUT!!!! The Grammies are on tonight!!! YAY!!!!!!
My picks for tonight are the Plain White Tees, Feist, and Amy Winehouse. I have seen a few of the dresses, and they are all in very rich tones. And how can I forget Prince's outfit? He wore a BRIGHT red suit with an upturned collar-CLASSIC PRINCE!

Great Book!

Today I went shopping with my friend Taylor, and I picked up this book that I have been wanting to buy for a while. It is about how a small town girl (like me) became a reporter for Rolling Stone (what i hope to be!). It looks VERY good, and I cannot wait to read it!!!
I did not buy anything else, although I did see a very tempting sweater, beret, and many Hello Kitty items. I guess I am good at saving for NYC. (we are going...sometime!!!)

Shopping Tips!

Sorry I did not write yesterday...I had too much to do and not enough time!
Today, I will give you some of my FAVORITE shopping tips.
1. Always try stuff on. Some times it looks good on the rack, but not on you, and then you are left with having to return the clothes (even though you get to do more shopping!)
2. The clearance area is usually in the back of the store (in case you lived under a rock and did not know that!) so head there first!
3. At stores like The Gap and H&M, the same adult styles are sometimes featured in children styles, too. IF THEY FIT AND DON'T MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A LITTLE KID!!, I actually reccomend that you buy the kid style because it is cheaper!
4. Go to thrift stores! Sometimes you can find really cute stuff for a VERY cheap price!
5. Do not over-pay for ANYTHING. Sometimes designer knock-offs can look cuter than the orginals. Then again...do not buy a designer handbag!

Across the Universe

HOORAY!!!! Across the Universe finally comes out on DVD today! For those of you who do not know, Across the Universe is a movie featuring the Beatles music. It is based in the sixties, and seems to be modeled after the lives of the Beatles. (Main charcter Jude seems to be like John Lennon-that is just my impression) Anyway appearences from Bono, Joe Cocker, and Evan Rachel Wood, not to mention the kalediscope filming make this movie definetly one of my favorites!

Super Tuesday Primaries

Tomorrow is Super Tuesday in the US, and you know what that means. Both the Democrat and Republican Parties will be fighting for votes from 24 states. This huge primary election could very easily sway the polls in favor of one candidate or another. Obviously I have my own opinions about each candidate, even though I cannot vote yet. For the Democrat ballot, I believe that Barack Obama is the better candidate, because he does not focus on experience alone. I think that Hilary is sort of degrading herself by wearing all of those 'boxy' outfits, because she could be really stylish. I know it is her 'style', but it still bugs me.

On the other side of the vote, I am unsure. I definetly do not like the way Romney is running his 'I'm Rich, so watch my ads' campaign. The other candidates I am unsure about, so we'll just have to see what happens.

Fashion Week NYC Begins

Designers including DKNY, Rock and Republic, and Lela Rose showed up for this year's fashion week NYC. I wish I could have been there...the designers, the clothes, and most importantly the free gifts! After watching Ugly Betty, I realized that most things in the fashion industry are is free. That is, if you can afford going to a huge fashion show like this.

This week's style icon is AGYNESS DEYN. The British 'it' girl has a style of her own with bright colors, skinny jeans, and a pixie hair cut.

Her style is definetly coveted in the fashion world, and she has appeared several times in magizines such as Teen Vogue.

To get your own Agyness Deyn look here is what you need:
1. Bright color jeans: I really like them from Old Navy, I have 2 pairs: 1 in blue, and 1 in purple. Even though I am really short, the look OK rolled under (NOT CUFFED!)
